The Founder of World of Knowledge, Mr. Erik Bolinder was on an India Promotional Tour during a week at the end of January 2020. He was Invited to promote WikiMaster and the WOK project among four Colleges in the Dindigul area located in the state of Tamil Nadu in the south of India, close to Chennai. The Tour was a huge success and was initiated by the World's current Nr 1 WikiMaster: Mr. Gopalakrishnan, who during one of the events finally got his long-awaited Award WikiMaster of the World for 2018 and 2019.
The Founder of WOK Mr. Erik Bolinder has been awarded the GFEL Top 100 Leader in the World in Education Award. The Prize Ceremony was held at the Le Meridien Hotel in Dubai on Dec 16-18, 2019.
Wikimania is a global conference for Wikipedia. Every year a new city hosts this event where all the Wikimedians from the World gather to meet up and discuss the development of the encyclopedia. The Founder of World of Knowledge Project Mr. Erik Bolinder has attended four (4) Wikimania. In 2016 in Italy by the small village of Esimo Laurio by the Como Lake. In 2017 in Montreal and in 2018 in Cape Town. This year the event of Wikimania took place at Stockholm University, the University that Erik Bolinder graduated in 1992. It was a Wikimania in the Home Town of the Bolinder Family living here for seven generations. The great Community of Wikipedia was experiencing Stockholm at its best. On February 14, 2019 in an official visit to the Hashemite University in Zarqaa, WOK founder Erik Bolinder was invited by the Hashemite University to have a lecture of the project of WOK, World of Knowledge to the Students. He also met with the President of the University, Professor Kamal Eddine Bani Hani for an hour to discuss the many Challenges of Jordan with Education, Energy, and Water in focus. During the stay, the official WikiMaster Community Jordan was founded by a group of Students around Mr. Mossab Banat.
The African Women in Technology and business and WOKcraft have hosted the first WikiFlip Conference in Lagos on January 26, 2019. 65 delegates attended on the Event flipping images in WikiFlip, creating questions in WikiMaster and learn more about the WOK projects in making education in Nigeria stronger.
The Community of WOK in 2018 can be summarized as the third (!) year of success since launching of the app WikiMaster. We like to thank all our wokers, contributors, fans, donators and event delegates for the joint forces bringing the database of multiple choice questions linked to Wikipedia articles to be larger, stronger and more useful than ever. This social project is moving stronger into 2019!
For Nigeria and West Africa Students in general, the WikiMaster App has launched a portal to help students prepare for JAMB Examinations. The WikiMaster Nigeria User Group has been focused on making the app more useful for students by adding former exam questions for JAMB in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry and other subjects.
WikiMaster Communities are forming around the World to encourage quiz and local content based questions to national exams and to gather to enjoy the WikiMaster app.
In May 2017 the political party ruling in Turkey banned Wikipedia in Turkey. Since then it has been banned. Search on Google will not result in any results.
In Google Play / Play Store for Android devices and in AppStore, Turkish users can download the WikiMaster app. This is currently to our knowledge the only way to get access to Wikipedia in Turkey.
Wikimania is the annual conference celebrating all the free knowledge projects hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation. WikiMaster and WikiFlip were represented in Cape Town on July 18-22 by WOK Founder Erik Bolinder.
The WikiMaster Community is growing. In Nigeria, the WikiMaster User Group met up for a quiz-a-thon on July 6-7, 2018. It was a great success. Over 65 students from different Universities showed up in Lagos. During July 7-31 these students produced over 6500 multiple choice questions related to Nigeria, West Africa and Africa in General. A great way to get the local content in focus.
The WOK project continues to move forward in our ambition to create the Knowledge Network. Many functions, design improvements, and content are added without big announcements or press releases. The ability to learn from Wikipedia offline is such a function.
The login process has been simplified in the WOK ecosystem of apps during spring of 2018. Now you can either login with email, Facebook or the latest added function Google.
In WikiMaster we have now a weekly quiz on the current events with around 40 questions each week.
The World news agency BBC has a new division in West Africa with a special target for young people in Nigeria, Ghana and other countries in the area called BBC Pidgin. As earlier articles in the Journal has reported, the WOK Founder Erik Bolinder was interviewed while he held the WOK Conference in Lagos. Now BBC has completed the report in a 2-minute spot.
In March 2018 the WOKbits Scoring system has changed. Along with our success, we have learned from the vast amount of data and user behavior to make the app WikiMaster more fair and fun to use. The biggest change is the decreasing WOKbits (Wb) earned when you repeat the same question in a Wiki.
The Wikipedia app WikiMaster passed 500000 downloads in Play Store on Google for Android devices on March 2. This marks a milestone in the World of Knowledge history.
The images used in WOKcraft apps are from the fantastic Wikimedia Commons library. The images are both beautiful and descriptive. The images should not reveal the answers but give a hint of the question. During February 2018 WOK team enhanced the magnification of the images in all apps so the juridical minimi level was raised to give the authors even more credit but also enhanced the apps function, feel and enjoyment.
The first WOK Conference ever held took place in Lagos at Goethe-Institut on Jan 29-31. The delegates from Nigeria and Edo State studied and learned about the app WikiMaster and after the Event two of the delegates was awarded with scholarships for their contributions with a partial funding for coming to Wikimania 2018 in Cape Town and for a 3-month internal scholarship at WOK Production team in Cairo.

World of Knowledge (WOK) will host its first conference in Lagos on January 29-31 in cooperation with Wikipedia Nigeria User Group.
The Event is to promote the Wikipedia use for schools in Nigeria and West Africa in promoting the vast useful content of Wikipedia for academic use in collab with a combination of quizzes on top of Wikipedia articles. The Event will also host and be a kickoff for a WikiMaster competition in the app WikiMaster, the core of the Knowledge Network WOK.
The World of Knowledge project at large had a really successful year. With all our common jointly forces of involvement, passion, energy, love and commitment WOK, with the WikiMaster app as the core, made some MAJOR landmarks during 2017.
